Early Days

World War II

1947 and Onwards

This is my tribute to the funniest magician ever.
Tommy Cooper  was, without doubt, the most inventive and funny British comedian since Charlie Chaplin. This is a view held not only by his many thousands of followers but by his show-business colleagues as well. Ever since his first professional engagement in 1947, Tommy Cooper's story has been one of success. His unique sense of humour and natural talent for visual presentation have made him into an artiste whose popularity has never waned. Indeed, in August 2004 twenty years after his death, he was voted the funniest Briton of all time in a poll conducted by the Reader's Digest magazine.
